Maxi Okwu, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), believes that with the current electoral management system in Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027 is virtually guaranteed. He emphasized that Tinubu, as a skilled politician, understands the strategies necessary to secure his victory. Okwu remarked that anyone who believes Tinubu could lose the upcoming election is likely just being unrealistic.
In this interview with the NigPOST, Okwu, a lawyer, also looks at the just concluded governorship election in Edo State, the fate of Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State in his party, the APGA, the human rights records under President Tinubu and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, minister, Nyesom Wike’s threat of fire in states governed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, among other issues.
